Dorothy (Hubbard) Luke, age 98, of Ripley, New York passed away on August 27, 2026 at Chautauqua Rehabilitation Center.
She was born on December 19, 1927 in Sherman, New York to the late Ralph V. and Mary (Goulding) Hubbard.
Dorothy graduated from Ripley Central High School in 1945 where she was the class valedictorian.
She owned and operated Dorothy's Beauty Shop in Ripley for 70 years, worked at the Chautauqua Athenaeum Hotel, and was a member of the Ripley United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed square dancing, socializing at the Ripley Senior Citizen Center, reading, traveling, and was an avid Steelers fan.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Luke; granddaughter, Amelia Luke; brother, Clifford Hubbard; sister, Joanne Roache; and son-in-law, Joe Di Capua.
She is survived by her daughters, Susan Sanderson (Bob) and Carol Di Capua; sons, Ralph Luke (Dottie) and Brian Luke (Mary); sister-in-law, June Arnold; grandchildren, Bobby, Jon, Kerra, Sophia, Hayden, Olivia, Joseph, Alexis, and Luke; great-grandchildren, Chloe, Stella, and Joey; and nieces and nephews.
Dorothy's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the Chautauqua Hospice aides and volunteers for the exceptional care, compassion, and professionalism that was provided.
Friends and family may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East on Friday September 4th from 11:00 a.m. until time of a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Officiating the service is Cheryl Jones. Private interment will be held at Quincy Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Ripley United Methodist Church or the Ripley Fire Department or the Chautauqua Hospice and Palliative Care.
