Doris L. Sweetheimer, 95, of Frewsburg, passed away on Friday, September 25, 2026 in UPMC Chautauqua.
She was born June 18, 1931 at home in Ivory, a daughter of the late Harold E. and Gladys L. Comstock Littlefield.
She started school in a one-room schoolhouse in Ivory before attending schools in Frewsburg.
Doris was a longtime member of Ivory Baptist Church and the Ivory Cemetery Society.
She was a dedicated homemaker and enjoyed square dancing, camping, and crafts. For 20 years, she and her late husband spent winter months in Florida.
Doris is survived by her four children: James (Leann) Sweetheimer, Debra (Russell) Jungquist, Nelson Sweetheimer, Jr., Suzanne (Rick) Carlson; three grandchildren: Deanna (Larry) Southwick, Eric Sweetheimer, Nicole (Justin) Martin; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Nelson J. Sweetheimer, Sr., who passed away on March 8, 2016; two grandchildren Erin Jungquist and Joshua Caldwell; two sisters Lois Kesby and Jean E. Gagliano; and a brother George H. Littlefield.
A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, October 3, 2026 in Peterson Funeral Home, Frewsburg. Burial will be in Ivory Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 11 am to 1 pm on Saturday in the funeral home.
