Donald W. Stewart, 82, of Jamestown, died Tuesday September 23, 2026, in UPMC Hamot, Erie.
A lifelong area resident, he was born August 26, 1944, in Jamestown, a son of the late Roy Stewart and Lois Wallin Stewart Jungquist.
He was a 1963 graduate of Bemus Point Central School.
Prior to his retirement, he was a 37-year employee of the City of Jamestown, Department Public Works as a traffic and engineering technician.
He was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Sylvan Lodge 303 F&AM, Mt. Sinai-Mecca Chapter 132 Order of Eastern Star, Lakewood Rod and Gun Club and a former member of the Jaycees.
Surviving is his wife Sandra Swanson Stewart, whom he married March 27, 1965; three children Robert Stewart of Jamestown, Barbara Langford of Oakland, MD and Alissa Carroll of Clayton, NC; three grandchildren Nathaniel Langford, Andrew Langford and Annabelle Carroll; two sisters Cynthia Taft of Ocean Isle, NC and Marlene Sanders of Bemus Point, his step mother Jo Stewart of Bemus Point and several special nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather Leo Jungquist and his brother Roy "Butch" Stewart.
A memorial service will be held at 4 pm Friday in the Lind Funeral Home, where friends will be received for one hour to the service.
Memorial donations may be made to Shrine Children Hospital Erie unit, St Jude's Children's Hospital.
