Barbara A. Barmore, 94 formerly of Dewittville, passed away Fri., Sept. 11, 2026.
Born Sept. 16, 1931 in Jamestown a daughter of the late Ward and Fern Simpson Volentine.
Barbara worked as a Commercial Artist for various companies in Chautauqua County, but was primarily a fulltime mother, homemaker and also assisted her husband in their antique auction business, Barmore Auctions, for over 20 years.
She invented and received a U.S. patent for "Nail Ayde" which was widely distributed throughout Germany.
Barb was a charter member of the New Hope Community Church, Jamestown.
She enjoyed using her culinary skills to entertain family and friends. deeply enjoyed decorating her home for seasonal and holiday occasions, but most importantly, Barb dearly loved her family and centered her life around them.
Wife of 76 years to Cecil Barmore; mother of Craig (Linda) and Brent (Sue) Barmore; grandmother of Chris (Courtney) Barmore, Tamara (Tim Snyder) Weise, Kristi Marshall, Traci (Rob) Raynor and Jessica (Kristin) Anderson; great-grandmother of eight, great great-grandmother of 11; sister of the late Jane Abersold, Harold, Howard and Ralph Volentine. Also survived by nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life is being planned for Labor Day weekend of 2027 and will be announced at a later date.
