Susan M. King, 86, of Hunt Road, died Saturday, August 8, 2026, in her home surrounded by her family.
A lifelong area resident, she was born April 27, 1940, in Jamestown, a daughter of the late Everett and Ruth Swanson Peterson.
She was a 1958 graduate of Southwestern Central School.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Acu-Rite.
She was a member of Lakewood American Legion Auxiliary, Lakewood Rod and Gun Auxili ary, Celoron Moose Lodge and a life member of Chautauqua Lake Fishing Association.
Sue will be remembered for her easy laugh, beautiful smile, and love for her family and friends
Surviving are two daughters, Deborah (John) Lloyd of Dublin, CA and Kellie (James) Work of Celoron; grandchildren, Melyssa (John) Parmenter, Alex Lloyd, Jacqueline Lloyd, Jacob, Tiffany, Crystal and Jaydon Work; great granddaughter, Ava Parmenter; a sister, Carolyn Wiggly of San Diego, CA and a brother, Donald "Bumpy" (Lois) Peterson of Celoron.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stewart "Stub" King, Jr., whom she married June 6, 1959, and who died February 8, 2022; a daughter, Amy King and brothers, Edward, Allen and Darwin Peterson.
A celebration of life will be held November 9, 2026.
She will be laid to rest in Sunset Hill Cemetery alongside her husband Stub and daughter Amy.
Memorial donations may be made to Chautauqua Hospice and Palliative Care.
