Shelly L. Lipphard, 61, of Lakewood, passed away following a courageous three-year battle with cancer on Tuesday, August 11, 2026. She was born in Butler, PA on September 5, 1964, to Kenneth and Nancy Bell Cooper.
Shelly was the true embodiment of what it means to be a light in this world. She was the kind of person who could walk into any room and instantly brighten it. With her beautiful blue eyes and bright, infectious smile, Shelly had a way of making everyone around her feel happy and welcome. Her contagious laugh and ever-cheerful, optimistic outlook on life had a way of constantly bringing joy to everyone around her. She carried herself with a confidence and fearlessness that radiated from within, inspiring those around her to embrace life with the same joy and courage that came so naturally to her.
Shelly graduated from Southwestern Central High School in 1983. She continued her education at Jamestown Business College and graduated with an Associates Degree in Business Administration. Throughout high school and college, Shelly was employed at Lakewood Super Duper. After college, Shelly was employed by Quality Markets and American Locker Company. Prior to her retirement, Shelly was the business manager for Hanson Signs, where her compassion shone through in everything she did.
Shelly had an effervescent personality that drew people to her. She was always up for anything and found fulfillment in socializing and being outdoors. She enjoyed gardening, crafts, and loved putting together jigsaw puzzles with her husband and best friend, Jon. Traveling was another passion of Shelly's, giving her the opportunity to experience new places, embrace different cultures, and create lasting memories along the way. She approached life with a genuine curiosity and appreciation for all that the world had to offer.
Shelly had a passionate love of Scottish Terriers. She leaves McKenna, Duncan, and Maise at home in Jon's care. Their home is a shrine to them, she has a collection of all things Scottie, and never missed an opportunity to add something new.
Shelly loved her husband, Jon, with everything she had. Spending over three decades together, they were truly each other's soulmate.
Shelly's charismatic and upbeat personality will be missed by her husband, Jon; her parents, Ken and Nancy Cooper; her stepdaughter, Jessica Lipphard; her brother, Scott (Lisa) Cooper; her nephews and niece, Joshua (Raffaella) Cooper, Chad (Meghan) Cooper, Nicholas (Natalie Hops) Cooper, and Nicole (Anthony Bevilacqua) Cooper; and her great-nephew, Marcello Cooper.
The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 2-4pm Sunday, August 16, 2026, at Lind Funeral Home. A time of sharing will follow at 4pm. The graveside service will be at 10am Monday, August 17, 2026 at Sunset Hill Cemetery.
In place of floral offerings, the family suggests donations be made in Shelly's memory to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Road, Jamestown, NY 14701, or to Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, PO Box 631, Buffalo, NY 14240.
