Roger Ernest Witt, 92, of Cassadaga NY, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2026.
Born in Buffalo, NY, to the late Ernest and Claira (Neuman) Witt, Roger grew up with a deep appreciation for the outdoors. He was a graduate of Cassadaga Valley High School before answering the call to serve his country in the United States Navy. Following his military service, Roger spent many years as a dedicated employee of the Ring Precision Components in Jamestown, NY.
Roger was a man who was most at home in the woods or on the water. An avid outdoorsman, he spent his life fishing, hunting, trapping and as a Trapper Instructor for NYS DEC. In the winter months, in his younger days he could often be found snowmobiling or grooming the trails of Western New York. His rugged spirit and love for nature were defining hallmarks of his 92 years.
Roger was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nora Jane Earle Witt, brother Donald (late Matilda) Witt, Brother-in-law Jack Felton, Brother-in-law Henry Earle, nephew Russel Witt and Jerry Felton.
Roger leaves behind a legacy of family, including his children: Robert (Karen) Witt, Kevin Witt, and Michelle (Scott) Pattison. Sister-in-law Geraldine Felton. Nieces Nancy (Ronald) Mason, Shirley Swanson, Donna Witt, Kay Earle, Christina Earle Freeman, Brenda Witt and nephews Gary (Vickie) Witt, John Felton, Jim (Debbie) Felton, Kevin (Sarah) Earle and Keith Earle who will miss him dearly.
He was the proud grandfather of Kennedy Pattison, Katie Pattison and Julia Giaser (Nathan Barnes)
Visitation Monday 4-7 pm at Park Church 49 Sinclair Dr., Sinclairville. Burial in Cassadaga Cemetery.
