Phyllis Johnson Steere, 101, formerly of Falconer, passed away Thursday, August 13, 2026 in Warren Manor Nursing Home, Warren, PA.
She was born April 14, 1925 in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Alton and Evelyn Anderson Johnson. She lived in Jamestown as a child, and then in Falconer for most of her life.
Phyllis was a 1943 graduate of Jamestown High School and in earlier years was employed by Union National. She married Robert L. Steere on May 22, 1948. She devoted her life to Bob, home and family. Prior to retirement she was employed by Falconer Central Schools.
Phyllis was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Falconer. She also took an active part in many volunteer organizations in Falconer.
Surviving are her six daughters: Elaine Steere Stein of San Diego, CA, Kathryn (Gary) Elander of Murrells Inlet, SC, Karen (Patrick) Brake of Raymore, MO, Martha Vanwormer of Palm Bay FL, Mary (Sam) DelPopolo of The Villages, FL, Susan (Dan) Greiner of Green Valley, AZ; her grandchildren: Claire, Hannah (Stefan), Ingrid, Michael (Amelia), Ron, Elizabeth (Jamie), Robert (Carolina), Barbara (Sally), James, Denielle, Andrew, Kimberly (Owen); 7 great grandchildren: Ashton, Isabella, Ryan, Samuel, Sebastian, Sophia, and Hugo.
She was preceded in death by her dear husband, Bob, who died April 26, 2013. She was also preceded in death by son-in-law, John, grandson, Samuel, and granddaughter, Jennifer.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Visitation will not be observed.
