Nancy M. Ackley 75 of Jamestown NY passed away August 8, 2026 peacefully at home.
She was born on September 26, 1950 in Westfield NY to Lester and Elizabeth Bray.
In 1969, she married the only man she ever had eyes for, Frederick J. Ackley. She was a Loving Mother to Melissa Ackley Senear (Kevin), Kristin Ackley and Christina Kebort, and a Cherished Nana to Archie "Justin" Nichols, Aidan Senear, Alexis Ackley, Peyton Senear and step-granddaughter Kelsey Haskins.
Nancy was the type of person that was extremely Family Oriented, so much so that she would put everyone before herself. She would open her door to any friends or family that need ed it. Through the years she opened her home as a foster parent to so many children that needed a loving and safe place.
She poured her heart and life into those she loved and cared about! She worked for Jamestown Public schools as a Paraprofessional for 27 years until her retirement in 2015.
In the early days, she loved to bowl. She also loved to play Bunco and was part of the Red Hatters. She was a diehard Buffalo Bills fan that loved not just to cheer for the team but would be faithful no matter whether they won or lost. She highly enjoyed spending time with close friends playing dominoes, mahjong or getting her nails done. Her friendships meant a lot to her and they were like family.
Doing things for her grandkids was also one of her favorite things. If her daughters ever needed something, she was always there.
She loved to tend to her home and make it a beautiful place to gather to make sure that holidays and special occasions were always warm and memorable moments.
Nancy is also survived by her sisters, Charlotte Durrance and Connie Schultz of Fredonia, her sister, Sue Graham of Florida, her brother, Leslie "Buster" Bray (Krystal) of North East PA, brother-in-law, Richard Winkelman of Ripley, and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Fredrick Ackley, her sister, Shirley Winkelman, brothers-in-law, Herbert Schultz and Timothy Graham, as well as her nieces, Debbie Pierce and Brenda Winkelman and nephew, Ricky Winkelman.
