With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Freda Joan Farnsworth, who peacefully passed away on August 3, 2026, at the age of 88.
Born on August 18,1937 in Corry PA, Freda lived a life defined by compassion, service, and unconditional love. She dedicated her life to caring for others, both personally and professionally. As a nurse, she touched countless lives through her kindness, patience, and unwavering commitment to those in need. Her caring spirit extended far beyond her profession. She welcomed others into her home, cared for individuals with disabilities for many years, and at one point owned and operated a nursing home, devoting herself to ensuring others were treated with dignity, respect, and love.
To her family, she was so much more than her accomplishments. She was the heart of the family, the one everyone could count on for guidance, comfort, and support. Her door was always open, her advice was always honest, and her love was endless. She had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel seen, valued, and cared for. Whether through a warm meal, a listening ear, or a simple hug, she made the people around her feel loved.
She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, generosity, and selflessness that will continue to live on through all who knew and loved her.
While her family mourns her loss, they take comfort in knowing that her love, wisdom, and example will remain with them forever. Her impact on the lives she touched cannot be measured, and her memory will continue to be a source of strength and inspiration for generations to come.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who offered love, support, and care during this difficult time.
Though she may no longer be with us in person, her love remains woven into the hearts of those she leaves behind. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
She is survived by her beloved children: Mark Rader, Tammy Restle, and Dana Maynard; proud and devoted grandmother to: Nick Rader, Tasha Rader, Madison Restle, Mickenzie Restle, Albrey Singer, Tanner Maynard, Mack Rader, Bobby Rader, Kenny Rader; great-grandchildren: Lorali Rader, Donovan Bugbee, Balin Rader, Cayla Marshall; first husband, Robert Rader; sister, Dixie Arters; half-sister, Wanda Peterson; half-brother, Darren Peterson and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Farnsworth; companion, Fred Clark; brothers, Rex Peterson, Thomas "Mike" Peterson, and Fred "Skeeter" Peterson and a sister, Betty Sweet.
Celebration of Life will be held at a date to be announced.
