Father Joseph Anthony Gullo, 72 of Buffalo passed away on August 6, 2026. He was born on February 26, 1954, in Jamestown NY the son of Russell and Vienna Pope Gullo.
Father Joe attended St. James Catholic School and graduated from Jamestown High School. After graduating JHS Father Joe enlisted in the United States Army achieving the rank of second lieutenant. Upon his honorable discharge Father Joe earned a BS in Psychology from St. Bonaventure and a masters in Divine Theology from Crist the King Seminary on his way to becoming an Ordained Priest.
Father Joe served the Lord at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Dunkirk, St. John the Baptist Lockport and Nativity of Our Lord Orchard Park. Father Joe served as Pastor for Our Lady of Lorato/Our Lady of Victory Falconer/Frewsburg, Our Lady of Loreto/St. John Jamestown and St. Mary Arcade.
Father Joe is survived by his siblings, Katherine Gullo (Tony), Carmella Gullo Hallstein (Bernie), Nancy Gullo Peck (Hugh) and Anthony Gullo (Susan), his nephews, Jacob, Adam and Anthony Gullo, his niece, Barbara Peck and his aunt, Philomenia Costanzo. Also surviving are several cousins.
Father Joe was preceded in death by his parents, and his nephew, Russell Peck.
Arrangements entrusted to Riccardi's Hubert Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held on Sunday August 9, 2026, from 2-6 p.m. at St. James RC Church Jamestown NY.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday August 10, 2026, 10 a.m. at St. James RC Church Jamestown, NY.
