Daniel G. Bragg, 79, of Jamestown passed away Thursday (July 30, 2026) in UPMC Hamot, Erie, PA.
He was born December 30, 1946 in Jamestown, the son of the late Henry and Shirley Webster Bragg.
Dan was a 1965 graduate of Bemus Point High School. He also graduated from Jamestown Community College and Eastern Kentucky University. In earlier years he was employed by the former Art Metal Corporation and Stateside Toyota. Prior to retirement in 2013 Dan was employed by Cummins Engine in Lakewood.
He was a member of the Fluvanna Volunteer Fire Department for 45 years, and also serving Ellery Volunteer Fire Department. He also served as a EMT for 41 years and received numerous awards for his service. Dan was a member of the Chautauqua Co. Fire Police, Jamestown Moose, Celoron Moose and Ellery Rod & Gun Club.
Dan enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling, going on cruises, camping and volunteering for the fire department.
Surviving is his wife Carol A. Browning Bragg whom he married March 21, 1970 in Lexington, KY; a son David L. Bragg of Jamestown; his sister-in-law Jean (Roger) Bains of Florida; nieces: Andrea Gaddis of Tennessee, Danyel (Ben) Johnson of Jamestown, Darien (Jon) Kamholtz of Jamestown, Dawn (John) Bonora of Grand Island; a nephew Thomas D. (Marygayle) Browning Sr. of Louisiana; great nieces & great nephews: Adiamond Paden, William Paden, Daniel Savitz, Timothy (Kristen) James, Nicholas Bonora, Joseph Bonora, Karli Gaddis, Alek Gaddis, Thomas D. Browning Jr., Heather N. Browning, and several cousins.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Beverly J. Moller; a great niece Stephany Paden, and a brother-in-law Thomas Browning.
A Celebration of Dan's life will be celebrated on Sunday, August 16, 2026 @ 1 p.m. at the Fluvanna Volunteer Fire Department, 3536 Fluvanna Ave., Jamestown, NY.
Memorials may be donated to the Fluvanna Volunteer Fire Department.
