Carl A. Blood Sr.

1948-2026

Carl A. Blood Sr., 78, of Jamestown went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday (August 20, 2026).

He was born February 2, 1948 in Brooklyn, NY, the son of the late Vernon Blood and Theresa Kent.

Carl was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam War from 1967 to 1970. He was employed by several factories in the Jamestown area which included: Falconer Die Cast, Cresent Tool, Proto Tool, Blood Grinding & Turning and Jamestown Sterling.

He enjoyed working on cars, attending fairs, traveling to Amish country for donuts, apples and pumpkins. Carl currently attended New Beginnings Church in Kennedy.

Surviving is his wife Cindy D. Doverspike Blood whom he married February 20, 1987; six children: Carl A. Blood Jr. of Jamestown, Kevin Blood of Randolph, Stacey (Scott) Ward of Jamestown, Christopher Blood of Lakewood, Jason Vinton, Daniel (Sheila) Vinton; ten grandchildren: Rebecca Blue, Breanna Merwick, Chance Ward, Sydnie Ward, Austin Rodriguez, Nicholas Blood, Sara Blood, Kaden Blood, Kendell Blood, Joseph Vinton; nineteen great grandchildren; a brother Robert (Karen) Blood of South Carolina; two sisters: Patricia (Robert) Lewis of Sheffield, PA, Mary Bishop of Tiano, PA.

Besides his parents Carl was preceded in death by a great granddaughter Lilliana Merwick, a brother Elmer "Skip" Blood; a nephew Benjamin Blood, and a niece Theresa May Blood.

The funeral will be at 12 p.m. (Noon) Tuesday in the Falconer Funeral Home. Rev. Mike Herdzik pastor of New Beginnings Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.
