Robert "Bob" Eugene Sharp, 69, of Sinclairville, New York, passed away unexpectedly at home following an accident on Monday, July 20, 2026. Bob was born on August 27, 1956 in Dunkirk, New York to Basil Sharp and Minnie Buckley Crawford. He grew up in Cassadaga, New York, working alongside his family on one of Albert VanDette's dairy farms, now known as The Front Porch Promise Farm. He graduated from Cassadaga Valley Central School in 1975, where he was a member of the Future Farmers of America.
After graduating high school, Bob began his career at Truck-Lite where he spent more than 30 years as a maintenance mechanic. Throughout those years, he also provided custom welding, fabrication, and mechanical services for local farmers, friends, and neighbors. Following his retirement from Truck-Lite, Bob continued to serve his community through his skilled craftsmanship.
Bob was known for his remarkable work ethic and his willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He loved to "tinker" and seemed able to fix just about anything, whether it was around the house, on the farm, or in the shop. He especially enjoyed working on tractors - his own as well as those of family and friends; which he instilled in his grandson, Jasper, whom he spent countless hours working on them together. His legacy lives on not only in the things he built and repaired, but also in the countless people he helped along the way. To those who knew him, Bob was the person you called when something needed fixing - and somehow, he always knew exactly how to make it work again.
One of Bob's greatest joys was spending time with his friends. He treasured his neighborhood coffee club with Laura, Jesse, Blanche, Johnny, and Richard "Dick" and made a point of visiting with his close neighbors each week. Many looked forward to seeing him drive in the tractor parade at the annual Chautauqua County Antique Equipment Association Show and the Sinclairville History Day Parade. He also enjoyed sharing meals and good conversation with friends, especially at the Ellington Rod and Gun Club.
Bob is survived by his beloved companion, Laura Bardo and his faithful dogs Buddy and Lucy; his mother, Minnie Crawford; sisters, Karen (Mark) Cannon, Diane Crawford, Marjorie Sharp; and his brother Patrick (Annie) Sharp. He was the proud father to his three children, Garrett Sharp, Shelley (Joe) Reed and grandchildren Hayley and Jasper Reed, and Lauren Sharp and grandchild, Ryn Washington. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Basil Sharp; stepfather, Robert Crawford; and brother, David Sharp.
Friends are invited to celebrate Bob's life on Thursday August 27, 2026 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at The Front Porch Promise Farm, 7431 NY Route 60 Cassadaga, NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Bob's memory to the Cassadaga Valley Future Farmers of America or the Chautauqua County Antique Equipment Association.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Jordan Funeral Home, Sinclairville, New York.
