Patricia Marie (Ferland) Wasko, 88, of Jamestown, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2026, at the family summer Chautauqua Lake house.
She was born in 1938 in Augusta, Maine, the daughter of the late Roland and Agnes (DeRoches) Ferland.
Pat was a graduate of Augusta High School and a local business college.
She met her husband Joe, who was first stationed at NAS Brunswick, Maine, on a double date with another sailor. They both realized they were more suited to each other than their dates and ended up dating each other. He was later stationed at NAS Oceana in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He and Pat continued to date, became engaged in July 1958, and married in May 1959.
Pat was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Joseph Gordon Wasko, brother, Robert Ferland, sisters, Shirley Reynolds and Marjorie Daley.
Surviving her are children, Cindy (Rick) Feura of Sarasota, Florida, Joseph G. (Tomasz) Wasko, Jr. of Jamestown, Sandy (Sandy) Wasko of Sarasota, Florida, and several nieces and nephews.
After the passing of her husband in 2021, she continued living in Jamestown and enjoyed spending time with family members, especially her sister-in-law Joanne. She enjoyed living in her own
home with the companionship of her dog “Otto.”
All of her children were lucky to be with her on her last night enjoying dinner at the Yacht Club, a beautiful boat ride home with a moonlit sky, having no idea it would be her last. This picture of her was taken on that night.
Cremation will be handled by Lind Funeral Home, and the family will have a small, private gathering to celebrate her life at a later date.
