Laura Mohr (Jones), age 85, born in Bemus Point, NY, died January 4, 2026 in St. Augustine, FL. Beloved wife of 60 years to Ronald Mohr, who predeceased her on 5/30/22. Mother to Jerry (Alison), Derek (Elizabeth) and Heidi (Dan). Grandmother to Shawn, Cheyenne (Tyler), Charlotte, Grace, Eli, and Katerine.
She is survived by brother, Ray Jones as well as her beloved dog, Tucker, and was predeceased by brother, Leslie Jones. Laura and Ron were long-time members of Niagara Frontier Fiddle Club. She was a life member of the North Amherst Ladies Auxiliary. She worked for many years in food service at UB, and many more as a bus driver for National School Bus.
They were famous for their ‘Turkey Jams’- they would cook several garbage can turkeys and invite all of their friends and fiddlers and have a music and food filled afternoon. They held epic Halloween parties and she was renowned for her baking- her cream puffs and sticky buns were legendary.
A casual Memorial Celebration will be held on Saturday, July 25th at 4PM at Midway State Park’s Sunset Room (first floor, left-hand side if you’re looking at the roller-skating rink–where they met several decades ago– from the parking lot) in Maple Springs, NY (on Chautauqua Lake). Please no flowers. Casual attire. Picnic fare.
