Kevin R. Smith

1963-2026

Kevin R. Smith, 62, of Franklin, PA passed away unexpectedly after a long battle with COPD at his residence on Friday, July 3, 2026.

Born in Jamestown, NY, on July 25, 1963 he was the son of the late Donald and Carolyn Cummings Smith.

Kevin had a lifelong love of baseball and was a devoted New York Yankees fan. He and his wife, Lisa, shared that passion and especially enjoyed attending Erie SeaWolves games together. They had been looking forward to crossing a lifelong dream off their bucket list by attending a game at Wrigley Field later this month. Also Kevin had a great love for animals and music. At anytime you could catch him listening to his tunes while waiting for the Yankees game.

Kevin will always be remembered for his quick wit and being the life of the party.

Kevin formerly worked as a counselor at the former WCA Hospital in Jamestown, New York, where he dedicated his career to helping and supporting others.

On June 28, 2007 he married the former Lisa Youd in Franklin and she survives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Carolyn Smith, his brother, Donald A. Smith Jr., maternal grandparents, Clyde and Irene Cummings, paternal grandparents, Elmer and Gertrude Smith, and fur babies, Rambo and Jake.

Also surviving are two step-children, Kellie Isaac of Olive Branch, MS and Sean Isaac and his partner, Paris of Erie; two-step grandchildren, Jaceon Isaac and Kaelynn Isaac; a sister, Shannon ( Marv) Neubauer, two nephews, Daniel Neubauer of Frewsburg, NY, Adam (Ivory) Neubauer of Gerry, NY, a niece, Sydney Neubauer of Blasdell, NY, a great nephew, Caleb Neubauer of Gerry, NY and numerous cousins.

Even though you are gone,

Your memory will always remain.

Your soul has been released,

You are now free from pain.

You left this world

Knowing that you were loved.

You are now with God

In the glorious Heaven above. Shannon

Per Kevin’s wishes, Funeral Services will not be observed. A celebration of life is planned for a future date. Memorials may be made to the Chautauqua County Humane Society or Hospice of Chautauqua County.
