Joyce W. Greenfield
1927-2026
Joyce W. Greenfield, 98, formerly of Fairmount Estates, Jamestown, NY died peacefully on July 11, 2026, at Heritage Park in Jamestown, NY. She was born in Jamestown on November 23, 1927, to Edward H. Waterman and Flora May Geis.
She graduated from Bemus Point High School in 1946 and attended Jamestown Business College.
Early on, she worked at the Jamestown Bus Company and was a bookkeeper for many years at Lincoln Lighting Corp.
She was always interested in nutrition and worked at the General Nutrition Center (GNC) when it was in Chautauqua Mall.
She loved writing short stories and sold several to Romance magazines.
Joyce grew up in Greenhurst and lived in Chautauqua County her whole life. She was an avid roller skater in her younger years and was a member of the Jamestown Chapter of Phi Delta Sorority.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Greenfield, whom she married on July 28,
1951, and who died on May 29, 2004, and by her sister Helen Osthagen of Kiantone.
She is survived by three daughters: Pamela LeClair of Clearwater, FL, Barbara (Tony) Benedetto of Jamestown, and Rebecca (Rick) Andolora of Lakewood; four grandchildren: Emily (Steve) Cantin of Clearwater, FL, An drew (Stevie) LeClair of Roanoke, VA, Nicholas (Katie) Benedetto of Jamestown, and Philip (Michelle) Benedetto of Morrison, TN; nine great grandchil dren: Dylan Cantin, Claire Cantin, and Ellis Cantin, all of Clearwater, FL, and Ethan LeClair, Kate LeClair, and Curtis LeClair, all of Tampa, FL, and Noah Benedetto, Christiana Benedetto, and Luke Benedetto, all of Jamestown.
Joyce’s memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. Service details will be announced at that time.
