John P. Bandish, Jr., 86, of 2675 South Ave. died Thursday, July 23, 2026 in his home surrounded by his family.
He was born January 14, 1940 in Buffalo a son of John and Carmella Domenico Bandish.
He was a 1958 graduate of Jamestown High School.
He was a veteran of the US Marine Corps serving from 1958-61.
Prior to his retirement in 2002 he was employed by Dawson Metal as a foreman. He also worked for Vac Air Alloys as a landscaper and JAMA as a maintenance man.
He was a communicant at St. James Catholic Church.
He was a member of War Vets Recreation and the Century Club as a blood donor of the American Red Cross.
John lived for his family and was generous with his time in any of their endeavors.
Surviving is a daughter, Janelle (Brian) Paulson of Jamestown; two granddaughters, Brooke Paulson and Lexi (Zach) Mutz, both of Jamestown and three great grandchildren, Hunter, Logan and Chloe.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary Bellandi Bandish, whom he married May 28, 1966 and who died December 8, 2016 a brother, Joseph Bandish and a sister, Kathryn Bandish.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 AM Thursday in St. James Catholic Church.
Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Friends will be received from 4 to 6 PM Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital.
