Gloria Ann Raymond

A lifelong resident, Gloria graduated from Jamestown High School in 1955. She spent countless years as a dental assistant, namely with Dr. Gordon Sanctuary in Jamestown and, for a brief time, in Florida.

Traveling filled Gloria’s cup, as did her love for cats. Throughout the decades, she treasured time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Albeit a quiet soul, Gloria golfed many rounds with her identical twin sister and stayed true to lifelong friends on innumerable coffee and lunch dates.

Gloria savored peaceful hours reading at her leisure. In retirement, she and her identical twin became volunteer fixtures at WCA hospital’s front desk. She collected recipes by the dozens; certainly, her baking and cooking was extensive.

Gloria will remain in the hearts of her niece, Shelley (John) Brocci of Spring Lake, MI; her nephews, Lonne (Judith) Lyon of Rochester, NY and Bruce Lyon of Buffalo, NY; her great nieces and nephews, Benjamin Lyon, Jonathan (Taylor) Lyon, and Moxie Lyon; her step children, Marcia (Victor) Rutecki of Williamsville, NY, Sharon Raymond of Hamburg, NY, and Paul (Lisa) Raymond of State College, PA; as well as 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Besides her parents, Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Roger J. Raymond, who she married June 26, 1981, and who passed away January 7, 2009, and her identical twin sister, Glenda Kay Lyon, who passed away April 17, 2022.

The graveside service for Gloria will be at 11am Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Sunset Hill Cemetery. Rev. Tim Hoyer will officiate.
