Gale K. Button, of York, SC and formerly of Frewsburg, NY and Sinclairville, NY, passed away on May 11, 2026 at White Oak Manor in York of complications due to a stroke she suffered in August 2024.
Gale was born July 29, 1947, the eldest daughter of Joseph Frank Kobalka and Betty Ann Sheldon Kolbalka.
She was raised in Frewsburg, NY and graduated from Frewsburg Central School in 1966. She briefly attended the Practical Bible Training School in Johnson City, NY, then attended and graduated from Jamestown Business College. She was co-owner of M and O Metal Products and was also employed by Weber-Knapp and by Dr. Neil Power.
Gale married her husband, Rodney W. Button on April 14, 1984 and they moved to York, SC in 1993.
Gale survivors include her husband; daughters, Amy Waild of Randolph, NY and Julie Langendorfer of Jamestown, NY; grandchildren: Monica Waild, Breana Waild-Halla, Brian Waild, Kalee Halladay, and Beau Langendorfer; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild on the way. She is also survived by a stepsister, Connie King of Ashville, NY, and stepbrother, Joseph Kobalka, Jr. of Westerville, OH; and a niece, Christine Noel of Cocoa Beach, FL.
Services will be held at a later date. The family thanks the staff of White Oak Manor-York, VIA Health Partners and Wright Funeral Home of York for their excellent care of Gale.
