Christopher Adam Pitts
1975-2026
Christopher Adam Pitts, lovingly known as “Chris,” passed away on June 24th, 2026, at the age of 50, after a sudden and unexpected medical emergency.
Born on October 1, 1975, in Jamestown, New York, Chris spent his childhood growing up in Ashville, New York.
He attended Panama Central School and built a life filled with adventure, laughter, and unforgettable memories with those fortunate enough to know him.
Chris dedicated many years of his life to working for Castor Well Drilling until a disabling accident forced his retirement. Though his career was cut short, his determination and resilience remained evident throughout his life.
Anyone who knew Chris knew that he never met a stranger. He was often described as the life of the party, bringing laughter, stories, and energy wherever he went. He had a larger-than-life personality and lived by a motto he often shared: “I’m here for a good time, not a long time.” Those words reflected the way he approached life — with enthusiasm, humor, and a desire to make the most of every moment.
Chris had a passion for anything with an engine. He loved riding dirt bikes and four-wheelers and could often be found enjoying the thrill and freedom that came with being out doors and behind the handlebars. His adventurous spirit and love for excitement were a defining part of who he was.
Above all, Chris loved his family. He was a proud father and grandfather who cherished the moments he spent with those he loved. He leaves behind his daughter, Alimay Greenawalt (Hunter); his sons, Kaleb Pitts and Kyle Pitts (who preceded him in death); Amber Russell, the mother of his children; and his girlfriend, Jackie Clawson, who he loved dearly. He was a loving grandfather to Gianna Greenawalt, Finnley Pitts, Ophelia Pitts, Elyse Pitts, and Josephine Pitts.
Chris was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Pitts and his beloved son, Kyle Pitts.
He is survived by his father, Burton Pitts; his brother, Benjamin Pitts; his children and grandchildren; and many friends whose lives were touched by his humor, friendship, and unforgettable presence.
While there will be no formal services held at this time, Chris’s family encourages those who knew and loved him to remember him in their own way ä whether by sharing a story, enjoying time with loved ones, or simply raising a smile in his memory.
Chris leaves behind a legacy of laughter, adventure, and living life to the fullest. Though his passing leaves a tremendous void in the hearts of those who loved him, the memories he created and the joy he brought to others will live on for years to come.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
