Brooke Neil (Covey) Carnahan

Brooke Neil (Covey) Carnahan, 60, of Hall Street, East Randolph, passed away Friday (July 17, 2026) at Olean General Hospital after a brief illness.

She was born September 5, 1965 in Portland, Oregon, the daughter of the late David N. and Mary Delores (Castro) Covey of Randolph.

Brooke was a 1983 graduate of Randolph Central School and the Jamestown Community College School of Nursing. She worked in nursing at the former Lutheran Home in Jamestown, The Magnolia in Frewsburg and while living in San Antonio, Texas, worked for a number of places as a nurse.

She was a Communicant of St. Patrick's Catholic in Randolph and formerly at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in San Antonio, TX. Brooke was a great baker and won blue ribbons for her memorable Apple Pies. She enjoyed baking, cooking and spending time with family and friends.

Brooke is survived by her parents, Dave and Dee of East Randolph, their adopted son, Alexander Carnahan of Ohio, a brother; Kevin (Jennifer) Covey of Frewsburg, and a sister, Melissa (Cecil) Sleisman of Jamestown, a nephew, Brandon Covey and two nieces; Ellen Covey and Elise (Mike) Potter.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dan E. Carnahan, whom she married on February 12, 1988 and whom preceded her on September 28, 2021.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday (July 31 2026) in the VanRensselaer & Son Funeral Home, 14 Church St., Randolph. The family will be received for an hour prior to the service. Rev. Marcin Porada, pastor of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Randolph will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Bentley Cemetery, Shadyside Avenue, Lakewood, NY.
