Arlene Louise Carlson Loomis

Arlene Louise Carlson Loomis, 93, of Ashville, passed away Thursday (July 23, 2026) in Chautauqua County Nursing Home in Dunkirk, NY.

She was born November 1, 1932 in Jamestown, NY of the late Eldie E. and Linnea Wickmark Carlson.

Arlene lived in the area for her entire life, majority in Ashville, NY., she attended grade school (was in the first Kindergarten class there) at the former Ashville Union Free School. Arlene graduated from High School at the former Chautauqua Central School in 1950.

She was married for 54 years of her life to Stanley G. Loomis. Most of her life she enjoyed as a homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother. She loved her children and grandchildren, and enjoyed being around them.

In earlier years was employed in the accounting office of the former Chautauqua Co. Highway Dept, and later in the office of Seidman & Seidman CPAs.

She was a former member, treasurer, and Sunday School Teacher at the Ashville United Methodist Church. Arlene was involved with cub scouts and also the Brownies in later years. She enjoyed reading, all kind of puzzles, working in the yard and flowers, and was an avid Buffalo Bills Fan. In earlier years she played in a senior bowling and golf leagues.

Arlene is survived by two sons: Robert Loomis of W.E, Jamestown, NY, Mark (Carol) Loomis of Frewsburg, NY; four grandchildren: Eric (Bobby) Loomis of Springfield, MA, Nicole (Annie) Loomis of Rochester, NY, Daniel Loomis, Katie Loomis of Frewsburg, NY; two great grandchildren: Ren and Lily of Springfield, MA, one great granddaughter, Harvee of Rochester, NY; a step grandson, Jacob McMasters.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Stanley G. Loomis in 2006; a sister, Barbara Mathews in 2005; and two brothers, Charles and Duane Carlson.

Visitation will not be observed.

Inurnment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Ashville, NY.
