Robert W. Blackman 1922-2026

He was born August 10, 1922, in Cassadaga, a son of the late F.R. Blackman and Alma Mellor Blackman.

He was a WWII veteran of the US Army Air Corps.

For many years, he worked for Millcraft Paper as a truck driver and later for Upstate Milk.

His memberships include Moose Lodge, Vikings, Lakewood Rod and Gun Club and Lake Erie Salmon and Trout Association.

Surviving are two children, Sharron (Richard) Burak and William Blackman, both of Jamestown; grandchildren, Jennifer VanNauker of Jamestown, Robert Burak of Cape Coral, Florida, Caitlin (Jason Hill) Blackman of Maine and Christine Blackman of Virginia and great grandchildren, Maddox Hill, Ford Hill and Daniel VanNauker.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Johnson Blackman, whom he married October 5, 1947, and who died January 26, 2022, and a son John Blackman.

The funeral will be held at 2:30 pm Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home, where friends will be received for 30 minutes prior to the service.

Burial will be in Stockton Cemetery.
