Mary Anne Housholder, 75, of Franklin, died peacefully on Friday, May 22, 2026, at the John & Orpha Blair House Hospice Residence in Warren.

Born May 4, 1951, in Jamestown, NY, she was a beloved daughter to the late Richard F. and Bernice J. Swanson.

Mary graduated from Maple Grove High School in Bemus Point, NY and then went on to receive her bachelor’s degree of science and business from the University of Phoenix.

On June 9, 1979, she married Hugh J. “Dune” Housholder, who preceded her in death on February 9, 2018. They shared 38 years of marriage together.

Mary worked as an administrator at Grace Lutheran Church, where she faithfully attended for many years.She was part of the Venango County Amateur Radio Club and held an extra class license. She also owned the Amateur Repeater on the Hill.

Mary had a camp in Emlenton and enjoyed her quiet time with her very special Glen of Imaal Terrier companions, Aodhan and Saoirse. Mary was part of a group that tested dogs to gauge their hunting abilities. She also trained dogs to comfort hospital patients, nursing home residents, and children who had to testify in court.

Surviving is a sister, Elaine Crossley and her husband, John, of Frewsburg, NY, and their children, William Crossley and his wife Amy, and Sharyl Crossley, and four great-nieces, Lily, Isabel, and twins Asher and Beckett.

In addition to her parents, and her husband, Hugh J. “Dune” Housholder, preceding Mary in death were her two of her dogs, Hurley and Hannah.

Per Mary’s wishes, there will be no visitation or services.

Interment will be in Fentonville Cemetery, New York.
