John R. Olson

He was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church where he served in various capacities teaching Sunday School, driving the church van providing transportation, and was instrumental in launching the radio ministry WOGM-LP 104.7 FM.

Once retired, John resided in Florida where he was an active member of the Maranatha Village community. He worked in the village and enjoyed helping his neighbors and community. He was very involved in the village church where he had many friends and was an usher.

John is survived by his wife of 39 years, Rosanne, children Amy Tripp (Jett) of Wendell, NC, Michelle Menseck (Rich) of Wilmington, DE, Ken Olson of Powder Springs, GA, step-children Rod Stanton (Robin) of Holly Springs, NC, and Janelle Wickham (Justin) of North Tonawanda, NY, grandchildren Zachary Tripp, Mikaela and Rebecca Menseck, and step-grandchildren, Hunter Tripp, Brezny and Brooke Stanton, and Ethan and Alexa Wickham. He is also survived by his sister Jane Olson.

A private family service will be held to honor John’s life. The family would like to thank Batavia VA for their compassion and care during this difficult time.
