Emma J. Burch

1939-2026

Emma J. “Snookie” Burch, 87, formerly of Frewsburg, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2026 in UPMC Chautauqua.

She was born on April 22, 1939 in Alquippa, PA, a daughter of the late Edwin and Ann Vesolich Zdancevich.

She was a graduate of Bradford High School.

In earlier years, she was a communicant of the former Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church.

Prior to retirement, she was employed at New Process/Blair Corporation in Irvine, PA for many years.

She was an auxiliary member of American Legion Samuel Derby Post 556 and was a Partner in Hope for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Emma loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening in her flowerbeds and playing cards on Sundays.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years Ronald F. Burch; two daughters Rhonda (Jim) Merenick and DeAn (Mark) Durnell; four grandchildren: Jessica (Joe) Merenick, Brandon (Amber) Durnell, Michael (Mackenzie) Merenick, Chelsey Durnell, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by Baby Boy Burch and her sister Jacquelyn A. “Jackie” Darling, whom passed away on March 6, 2024.

Friends will be received from 1-3 pm on Friday, June 5, 2026 in the Peterson Funeral Home, Frewsburg with a private service immediately following.

Burial will be in Randolph Cemetery.
