Daniel ‘Scott’ Emerson
Daniel “Scott” Emerson, 64, of Lakewood, was discovered deceased on Saturday, May 23, 2026 after an extensive search, bringing peace to his family and friends.
He was born on July 11, 1961 in Jamestown, a son of the late Daniel E. and Janet E. Sharp Emerson.
Scott was a 1980 graduate of Southwestern High School.
For over 40 years, he owned and operated Scott Emerson Masonry formerly known as Top Hat N Tails Chimney Sweep and Masonry. He was well known around the local area for his craftsmanship and meticulous masonry work.
Scott was an avid sports fan of the New York Yankees, Alabama Crimson Tide, and the Minnesota Vikings.
He is survived by his son Nolan (fiancé Taylor Dewey) Emerson of Dunkirk; a sister Cindy (Chip) Swanson of Bemus Point; a brother Greg (Joanna) Emerson of Grass Valley, CA; a niece Jamie (Chris) Paulson of Evans, NY; and a nephew Kyle (Jessi) Swanson of Mayville.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of Scott’s life will be held from 12-4 pm on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at Busti Church of God.
Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Lakewood Busti Police Department, Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, and the various dive teams that assisted in the search for him.
