Sharon Marie Monagan Sciandra, 80, of Sun City, AZ passed away peacefully on May 7, 2026, in hospice care.
Born on October 10, 1945, in Rochester, NY, Sharon was the daughter of the late Elmer and June Monagan. She dedicated her life to helping others through her work as a social worker, a profession that reflected her compassionate heart, generous spirit, and deep commitment to serving those in need. Her acts of service took place in various agencies throughout Jamestown, NY and Greensboro, NC.
Sharon will be remembered for her caring nature, her devotion to family, and a lifetime spent helping others. Her kindness and strength touched many lives and will continue to live on through the family and friends who loved her dearly.
Sharon is survived by her children, Robin Sciandra (Michael) Tedquist of Phoenix, AZ and Christopher (Michelle) Sciandra of Oak Ridge, NC; her beloved grandchildren, Alexander Dietrick of Las Vegas, NV, Emily Dietrick of San Diego, CA, Kayla Sciandra (Tyler) Durham of Greensboro, NC, Sophia and Ava Sciandra of Oak Ridge, NC; and her great-grandchild, Grayson Durham of Greensboro, NC. She is also survived by her step-grandchildren, Erik, Kristen, and Heather Tedquist of Phoenix, AZ; and step-great grandchildren Haidan, Mabel, and Alistair of Phoenix, AZ.
She is further survived by her sisters, Nancy (Thomas) Smonskey, Cathy (Charles) Wilkes, and Lora (Shawn) Zwicker. She was preceded in death by her brother, John Monagan.
A memorial service celebrating Sharon’s life will be held later this summer in Jamestown, NY. She will be laid to rest alongside her parents at Sunset Cemetery.
