Sandy D. Galati

Sandy D. Galati, 92, of Jamestown, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2026, at his home.

Born June 10, 1933, in Jamestown, he was the son of the late Samuel and Angeline Ciancio Galati.

He was a 1952 graduate of Jamestown High School. A lifelong entrepreneur, Sandy was the owner and president of Galati Enterprises. He was known for his strong work ethic, determination, and entrepreneurial spirit–qualities that defined both his career and his daily life.

Sandy had a deep love for cars and boats, passions he carried into his business ventures, operating several marinas and car washes. He also had a lifelong enthusiasm for travel. He and his beloved wife, Sandra, created many cherished memories exploring the world together with their family, with a special fondness for Hawaii and Florida. He had a well-known sweet tooth–especially for ice cream–and never missed a chance to enjoy a good meal. He balanced those pleasures with a remarkable dedication to staying active and working out, a lifelong routine he maintained with discipline and pride.

Well known for his quick wit and easygoing nature, Sandy had a sense of humor that brightened every situation. He approached life with energy, optimism, and a genuine love for living, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him. He will be remembered for his humor, his drive, and the joy he found in living life to the fullest.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Abbott Galati, whom he married May 2, 1993; two daughters, Libby Galati and Kristy Galati of South Florida; and a sister, Carol (Don) Zeolle of Jamestown.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home, where friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service.
