Harold D. Lewis

Harold D. Lewis, 96, of Chubb Road, Randolph, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at home with his family at his side, while under the care of Hospice.

Harold was born Aug. 22, 1929 in Jamestown, the son of the late Harold Henry and Nella (Margarette) Patton Lewis.

He was a 1948 graduate of Jamestown High School and retired from Jamestown Metal Products in Jamestown after 42 years of service, where he served as a foreman. Harold was a Veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Korean War Era from Feb. 8, 1951 to Feb. 7, 1953. He also operated a Dairy Farm of Chubb Road in Randolph.

He was a member of the former Gerry Methodist Church and the Randolph American Legion Post 181, He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Nancy L. Gesaman Lewis, whom he married on Jan. 27, 1955 in Randolph; a daughter and caregiver; Lorna M. Lewis of Randolph; four granddaughters; Carie Steelman, Melissa Potter, DeAnna Turk and Amanda Tucker; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Patricia Wright.

He was preceded in death by a daughter; Kitty Kale Lewis on Jan. 16, 1958; two sons; Dale Lewis on Aug. 13, 2005, and William “Bill” Lewis Jan. 9, 2008; a granddaughter, Dawn Lewis on May 4, 2020; and a sister, Lorna Myers, as well as two stillborn sisters.

As per his wishes, there will be no services held. Burial will be in the Sample Hill Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
