David S. Dole
1971-2026
David S. Dole, 54, of Panama, died Thursday May 14, 2026, in his home following a short illness.
He was born May 20, 1971, in Jamestown, NY, the son of Myrna (Patterson) Dole and the late Charles N. Dole.
A 1990 graduate of Panama Central School, he went on to earn his associate’s degree from Jamestown Community College.
He was employed by Corry Memorial Hospital as an aide, and as a lifeguard at Camp Chautauqua and Jamestown YMCA
A life member of Panama Volunteer Fire Department, David also served his community as an EMT and became a level 4 Paramedic. In 2004, was voted EMT of the year.
David was always willing to help others, whether it be a ride to doctor’s office, or getting groceries. In his commitment to service and family, he cared for his dad prior to his passing in 2003 and then continued taking care of mom even after being severely injured fighting a house fire in 2011. The injuries sustained in that incident ended his volunteer fire/paramedic career.
David liked to cook & barbecue on the grill, and made a great blueberry cheesecake, and enjoyed working outside (in warm weather).
He was loved and will be greatly missed by his family and many friends who he made sure to stop and “chat with”.
Surviving besides his mother of Panama are two brothers Charles (Sandra) Dole of Jamestown, Phillip (Tamara) Dole of Busti, several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father in 2003 and maternal grandparents Calvin and Phyllis Patterson.
In keeping with Dave’s wishes, a private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the Panama Baptist Church.
