Carol E. Smith

Carol was born on September 26, 1934, in Jamestown, N.Y., the daughter of late Harry and Marjorie Fisk Ream.

Carol worked as a Laundry Aide for Manor Oak Nursing Home for 31 years. She was a member of Lakewood Rod and Gun Club.

Carol’s main priority was raising and caring for her family. She enjoyed being outside in her garden, family outdoor picnics, reading, crocheting, traveling and bus trips.

In addition to her parents, Carol is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, John E. Smith whom she married on February 21, 1953, and who died in June 15, 2016; three brothers: Charles Ream (12/28/1963), Donald Ream and Richard Ream (November 27, 2023).

Carol is survived by her daughter: Linda E. (Dennis W.) Johnson of Jamestown, N.Y. and a son: Michael J. Smith of Jamestown, N.Y.; a grandson: Steven D. Johnson of Jamestown, N.Y. and many nieces and nephews.

The family will have a private graveside service at Sunset Hill Cemetery, Lakewood, N.Y.

Rev. Daniel K. Nagle, former pastor of the First Lutheran Church will officiate.
