Stephen A. Jones

He was born Jan. 4, 1955, a son of the late Francis B. and Vera M. Steward Jones and was a 1973 graduate of Panama Central School.

Stephen worked in the bakery of the former Super Duper Grocery Store in early years before moving to Florida where he was a bakery manager for Publix Super Markets for 20 years. Returning to Jamestown, Stephen worked another 20 years for TitanX until his retirement.

Active in the Falconer Bowling League for many years, he was also a sports car enthusiast and enjoyed NASCAR and westerns. Steve loved the outdoors but even more so his family and grandkids.

Surviving is a daughter, Melissa (fiance, Ernie Strodtbeck) Bentley and children, Sierrah Rounds, Alauna Bane and Brennen Bentley; a daughter, Amanda Kennedy and children, Peyton, Jamison and Dominic Murray; a son, Brandon (Bergendy) Jones and their daughter, Kaelynn Jones; a daughter, Irene (Dylan) Abbott and their son, Aiden Abbott; a sister, Linda Jones; and Steve’s dog, his baby, Ellie.

Along with parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, David Jones and Gary Jones.

A celebration of Steve’s life will take place Saturday, May 23rd from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Henry Mosher Post 638 American Legion, 132 W. Main St. in Falconer. Share your condolences at www.lindfuneralhome.com.
