Raymond T. Tudor
Raymond Thomas Tudor, 89, was born Sept. 18, 1936 in New Kensington, PA, to John F. and Eleanor M. (Brucka) Tudor.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Linda R. (Peterson) Tudor, whom he married Sept. 22, 1963, his children, Michael Tudor (Shari Matsi) of Poland, Ohio, Kristin (Kenneth) Bates of Jenkintown, PA, and Kathleen (Thomas) Delk of Quakertown, PA, and grandchildren, Joshua Delk, Lauren Delk (Abhay Bhat), Jackson Bates, Davis Bates, and Juliet Bates.
Ray earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Westminster College in 1960. He was an English teacher in the Bemus Point Central School District from 1966 to 1984. He was head coach of the Maple Grove High School football team from 1966-70, and 1974-85, winning championships in 1970 and 1977. In 1977, the Dragons finished 8-1, with eight shutouts and only 12 points scored against them the entire season. He was named Coach of the Year, Division VIII football section VI, and the Dragons broke the top 25 in New York State.
Physical fitness was always Ray’s passion. He worked out routinely. He was a 12-year kidney transplant recipient. His greatest joys were morning crosswords and doughnuts with Linda, lake week with the grandkids, talking Steelers with Mike, and applying Shakespeare quotes to everyday life.
