Raymond J. Fry

Raymond J. Fry 74 of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on Jan. 11, 2026. He was born in Buffalo, New York, and was raised in Bemus Point, New York, on the shores of Chautauqua Lake. He was a 1971 graduate of Maple Grove Junior-Senior High School.

Raymond was a veteran who served in the United States Navy from 1972-1974. He spent many years working in the service industry and was well known to many in the Bemus Point area. Later, he moved to Deland, Florida, where he finished his career at Emmy’s Timeout Tavern. Upon leaving Deland, he moved to Murphy, NC. where he resided for about 12 years.

He is survived by his sisters, Kathleen Barr (James) of Jamestown, New York; Shirley Richner (David) of Kingwood, Texas; and Kellie Galante (Lew) of Chardon, Ohio, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley E. Irwin; his stepfather, Winston B. Irwin; and his father, Raymond John Fry.

Raymond will be laid to rest at Sunset Hill Cemetery in Lakewood, New York, overlooking the beautiful Chautauqua Lake. He will be greatly missed.
