Peggy Marie Kolstee

Peggy Marie Kolstee (Briggs), 71, of Corry, passed away on March 25, 2026, with family at her side after a sudden heart attack.

The daughter of James and Lora Briggs, Peggy was raised on a dairy farm in Clymer, New York and dedicated her life to helping others. Peggy spent many years at Corry Memorial Hospital as a nurse in the ICU before transferring to St. Vincent’s in Erie to work in the nuclear stress lab. She ultimately became a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner in Cardiology at St. Vincent’s before retiring in 2025. Her love of her work, her patients, and learning was clear to all who knew her. Peggy was an avid reader and gardener, with a deep love for her pets, including her many barn cats. She was also a dedicated sports fan, closely following the Buffalo Bills, the New York Yankees, and her grandchildren’s sports endeavors. She had no greater love than for her grandchildren, Caleb and Catelyn. “Nana” was the role of which she was most proud.

Peggy is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Michael; daughter, Jennifer (Scott) Knepper; grandchildren, Caleb and Catelyn; brothers, Ralph Briggs and Scott (Vicki) Briggs; sister-in-law, Jill Markscheffel; nephews, David Briggs (Stephanie) and Adam Briggs (Gwen); nieces, Erica Briggs (AJ) and Hannah Keppel (Chris); and grand nieces and nephews, Jacob, Owen, and Milaina Briggs, and Waylon and Maddie Keppel.

Peggy dedicated her life to heart health, raising awareness and funds for the American Heart Association. She was a passionate advocate and comforting smile for her patients. Her dedication to serving them knew no bounds.

Family and friends are invited to join in a celebration of life to be held at the Abbe Reformed Church in Clymer, NY on April 18, 2026, at 1 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Peggy’s memory to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org.
