Peggy J. Wilcox, 87, of Main Street, Forestville, died Thursday, April 2, 2026 at Autumn View Health Care Facility, LLC., Hamburg, following a short illness. She was born in South Dayton on May 27, 1938, the daughter of the late Francis and Margaret (Seilmen) Howard.
Peggy was a graduate of the former South Dayton High School, Class of 1955. and worked as a Senior Social Welfare Examiner for Department of Social Services in Dunkirk. She also worked for Comstock Foods, in the grapes, and as a Cafeteria Manager for Forestville Central School. Peggy was a member of the Brocton American Legion and was Union Treasurer for CSEA Local #807 for 20 years. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports, doing puzzles and crosswords.
Survivors include a daughter, Sue Wilcox; three sons, Ward Wilcox, Chuck (Paula Pichon) Wilcox, and Dennis (Jackie Kulpa) Wilcox; two sisters, Frances Waterman, Anna Colvin; and a sister-in-law, Carol Howard. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Jacob (Samantha), Jessie & Jamie Wilcox, one grandchild, Eleanor Wilcox and several nieces & nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her three brothers; Douglas, Richard “Dick” & Donald “Sonny” Howard; and four sisters; Nancy Lee Howard, Jean Nobles, Betty Lou Richter & Mary Ann Wutz.
Friends are welcome to call at Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main St., Forestville on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Private graveside services will be in Villenova Cemetery.
