Mary Jane Ann (Nordland) Boozel
Mary Jane Ann (Nordland) Boozel
On Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at the age of 86, Mary Jane Ann (Nordland) Boozel was called home to her Savior, Jesus Christ.
Born to Rudolph and Helen Nordland on June 5, 1939, in Jamestown, NY, Mary was the youngest of 4, all of whom preceded her in death.
From a young age, Mary’s mother taught her to play piano. Soon discovering a natural amplitude for music, she proceeded to learn cello, guitar, violin, and viola.
When a traveling evangelist introduced her family to the Gospel, Mary became a Christian. From this point on, sharing the Gospel of Christ became her primary mission.
Mary graduated from the Women’s Christian Association (WCA) Hospital School of Nursing in 1959 and then attended the Practical Bible College, where she received her degree in 1963. Though she didn’t know it then, it was here she met her future husband, Veo Boozel, who now survives her.
In the 42-year gap between graduation and marriage, Mary worked as a nurse at WCA Hospital. She was also a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Jamestown, NY, where she served as a secretary, musician, and children’s ministry teacher.
When not at the hospital or church, Mary enjoyed putting her musical talents to work by participating in various ensembles, teaching lessons, and arranging music.
Mary was always generous and loving toward everyone in her family. She invested time and attention in each, attending concerts, giving music lessons, and spending countless hours sitting and listening to them share their life ambitions.
After marrying Veo Boozel on April 23rd, 2005, Mary moved to Meadville, PA, and became a member of Denny Chapel, remaining so until her death.
Mary’s life was marked by her relationship with God. Her desire for all to know the Gospel was the greatest legacy she wished to leave. While she is now gone from us now, she is at home with the Lord, and all who believe in Christ will someday see her again in the presence of God.
