Jay Doverspike

Jay Doverspike, 90, of Jamestown passed away Sunday, April 19, 2026 in Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing in Greenhurst.

He was born April 6, 1936 in New Salem, PA, the son of the late Edward H. and Twila M. Riechard Doverspike.

Prior to retirement, Jay was employed by MRC-SKF for 36 years. He was a former member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church and the Falconer Rod & Gun Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, boating on Chautauqua Lake and attending family gatherings.

Surviving are four children: Cindy D. (Carl) Blood of Jamestown, Linda J. Doverspike (Debra Loomis) of Kiantone, Richard J. Doverspike of Jamestown, Sharon E. Doverspike-Sysol of Jamestown; six grandchildren: Jason Vinton, Daniel Vinton, Melissa Jone, Melinda Haymes, Crystal Peelman, Richard Doverspike Jr.; six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters: Ramona Nord, Kay Filegar.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Emegene L. Troup Doverspike, whom he married Nov. 16, 1954, who died June 25, 2021; a granddaughter, Misty Dillingham; three brothers: Jack, Jimmy, and Max Doverspike; four sisters: Laurine Burkhouse, Charlotte Doverspike, June Geist and Shirley Barberstock; and a stepbrother, Carl Miller.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Falconer Funeral Home. Rev. Mike Herdzik of New Beginnings Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service Thursday in the funeral home.
