Hossein Daneshkhah
Hossein Daneshkhah, 86, of Falconer passed away unexpectedly Monday, April 21, 2026 in UPMC Chautauqua.
He was born in Rasht, Iran, the youngest of five children. After graduating high school, he went to London, England, to perfect his English-speaking skills. From there he continued his education in the United States and graduated from Howard University.
He married Paula Potwin on Feb. 26, 1969. They moved to Iran in 1976 and Hossein began his career with the Mazandaran Engineering Company. In time he formed his own construction company, building schools, roads, and bath houses in outlying districts of the provinces. After several enjoyable years, he moved his family back to his wife’s home town of Falconer, where he resided until his death.
After his retirement from Blackstone Business Enterprises, he and Paula joined the exercise group Healthy Bones. They enjoyed the group so much that they decided to take the teachers’ class, and taught for several years at St. Timothy Lutheran Church.
Besides his wife, Paula, Hossein is survived by two sons, Bobac (Jessica Franchina) of Ashville, Shahin (Tanya) of Chandler, AZ; a daughter, Leila (Mark LaFontaine); and a step daughter, Amy Brisendine of Woodbridge, VA.
