Helen Cartner

Helen Cartner, 75, of Jamestown, died Sunday March 29, 2026, in UPMC Chautauqua.

She was born May 15, 1950, in Jamestown, a daughter of the late Roland “Tex” and Janice Meleen Cartner.

Helen loved to listen to music and live bands and would holler when it was a song she loved. Cuddling her stuffed elephant and cat, rubbing them across her face to feel softness brought her joy. Helen enjoyed attending Senior Adult Day Hab and being a part of something that kept her going all day. She enjoyed watching cartoons, relaxing on her swing, and the warmth from the sunlight. Most of all she loved her sister Sharon. Sharon would constantly go over to Helen, rubbing her arm, face, and hair, asking how she was doing, and telling her that she loved her.

Surviving are siblings, Roland (Sandy) Cartner of Falconer and Sharon Cartner of Jamestown, and several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Stanley David Cartner and sister, Arcelia Bump.

The funeral will be held at 4:30 Monday in the Lind Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Frewsburg.
