Dorothy E. “Dot” Laughlin

Dot was born on Aug. 12, 1934, in Monogahel- a, PA, the daughter of the late Myles and Florence Thompson.

Dot worked for our local hospital as a registered nurse for several years starting out at Jamestown General Hospital and retiring from WCA Hospital.

Dot was a member of Blackwell Chapel AME Zion Church and Elks Club BPOE #263. She loved watching television, listening to Spiritual music, doing puzzles, loved going to gatherings with friends, collecting clowns and collecting different figurines, especially African American items.

In addition to her parents, Dot is preceded in death by her husband, Louis Laughlin; two sons, Vincent Laughlin and Louis Laughlin, Jr.; a daughter, Gwendalyn (Gwen) Laughlin; seven brothers and six sisters.

Dot is survived by four grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Per Dot’s wishes, no services will be held.
