Bonnie J. Barton, 81, of Jamestown, NY passed away April 28, 2026 peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family. A lifelong area resident, she was born Sept. 28, 1944, in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Daniel & Margaret (Hoover) Drake. Bonnie was a 1962 graduate of Jamestown High School. She worked for Chase/M&T Bank for most of her career, over 30 years, prior to retiring in 2012. She loved her job and faithful customers.

Bonnie most enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a devoted wife/mother/grandmother who taught her family that family tradition and spending time together was the greatest gift. Her dedication to family was best expressed through her legendary Sunday family meals. Her kitchen was the heart of her home where her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends would gather around the table. Sunday dinners were more than just food, they were a standing invitation for family to gather, connect and feel loved, a place of comfort, laughter and good times. She will be remembered for her unwavering warmth, generosity, and nurturing spirit.

She is survived by her loving husband, James R. Barton Sr.; three children and two stepchildren: Mike (Tracey) Calimeri of Jamestown, Sally (Dana) Overend of Falconer, Busty Calimeri of Kennedy, James (Roxann) Barton Jr. of Kennedy, and Nicole Barton of Buffalo; nine grandchildren: Joe Calimeri of Jamestown, Mike (Ashleigh) Calimeri of Westfield, Kristan Calimeri of Falconer, Michael Calimeri of Colorado, Matthew (Valentina) Overend of Ohio, Steven Overend of Ohio, Chase Dunn of Jamestown, and James Barton III & Mitchell Barton of Kennedy.; three great-grandchildren: Addison & Tucker Calimeri of Falconer and Oliver Dunn of Erie; two brothers: Ronald (Deb) Drake & Robert (Sarah) Drake both of Jamestown; a sister-in-law, Bonnie Drake of Jamestown; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, JoAnn Parham, brother-in-law, Eddie Parham and her brother, Daniel Drake Jr.

To honor her wishes, no visitation or services will be held.

A celebration of life will be observed at a later date, scheduled by the family.
