Arnold (Arnie) Henry Geisler
Arnold (Arnie) Henry Geisler, 68, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2026, in Regensburg, Germany where he was undergoing rehabilitation from a stroke. He succumbed to a second stroke in March.
Arnie was born in St. Tonis, West Germany to Elizabeth and Henry Geisler. Five months following his birth, he boarded an ocean vessel with his mother to begin his journey to the United States. The two were met by his father who had immigrated several months before Arnie’s birth and settled in Jamestown. All three later, became legally naturalized citizens of the United States. Arnie was to become the oldest of the five sons – also known throughout the Jamestown public school system as “The Geisler Boys.”
Arnie attended Persell Elementary, Lincoln Jr. High, and is a 1976 graduate of Jamestown High School. He received an Army ROTC scholarship to attend Canisius College from which he graduated in 1980 and was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the US Army Armor Corps. Arnie was a armor officer and later served as a diplomatic staff officer in several overseas roles. While serving, he received a graduate degree from the University of Minnesota in governmental affairs. Arnie retired as a Lt. Colonel after 22 years of active duty service. Following his active duty, Arnie continued to serve his nation as a defense contractor stationed in Germany.
Arnie is survived by his wife of 44 years, Elfriede and his daughter, Maria. Following his military service, Arnie and his family resided in Neumarkt in Oberpfalz Germany. He is also survived by his brothers, Thomas, Ronald (Elisabeth), Andrew (Cheryl), and John (Dodi).
Arnie was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth Maria who passed in 2016 and Henry Albert who passed in 2020.
Given his long service to his country and his commitment as a husband and father, Arnie was taken too soon to deservedly enjoy and savor the golden years of his life and the continued love and devotion of his family. May God give comfort to Elfriede and Maria and rest Arnie’s soul in the comfort of His embrace.
