Antoinette “Toni” Renze Duda, 102, of Jamestown, NY, and formerly of Erie, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at home, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Erie on Jan. 15, 1924, she was the cherished daughter of the late Valentino and Mary Leone Renze.
Toni lived a long and meaningful life defined by devotion to her family, a strong work ethic, and simple joys. A proud graduate of Strong Vincent High School, Toni worked at Erie Resistor, General Electric, and most notably Erie Technological Products, where she retired after more than 28 years of service. Toni was a faithful member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and an active participant in the Siebenbuerger Club Auxiliary. She will be fondly remembered for her exceptional cooking and baking–especially the meals and treats she lovingly prepared for family gatherings–as well as her fondness for the beach, where she found relaxation and joy.
In addition to her parents, Toni was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Duda, Jr., whom she married on Feb. 7, 1948; her son, John David Duda; four sisters, Vera English, Edith Brace, Lucy Janas, and Rose Blue; and four brothers, Joseph Renze, Eugene “Geno” Renzi, Frank Renzi, and Albert Renzi.
She is survived by her devoted daughter, Kathleen Palmer (Dennis) of Jamestown, NY; her cherished grandchildren, Michelle Palmer (Christopher Gullotti), Nichole Palmer (Tyler Jones), and Laurie Maza; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Karlie, Kellen, and Katelyn Allen, Karryne Mims, and Dominick and Landon Jones, all of Jamestown. Toni was also blessed with two great-great-grandchildren, Aurora Gullotti and Alivia Sweet. She is further survived by her brothers, Louis Renze of Erie and James Renze (Ann Marie) of North Carolina, along with many loving nieces and nephews who will remember her with great affection.
Family and friends are invited to call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home, Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd., Erie, on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 12 p.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
Toni’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Rose Clarke, and Julie Nagel of Chautauqua Hospice and Palliative Care along with her personal care aid Amy Mitchell. Toni’s legacy of kindness, resilience, and devotion to family will live on in all who knew her. “After 102 years of faithful service and love, she has been called home to the Lord. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her.”
