Agnes R. Polaski

Agnes R. Polaski
Agnes R. Polaski, 93, of Jamestown, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2026, at Heritage Green Rehab & Skilled Nursing, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and deep devotion to her family.
Born July 12, 1932, in Wilcox, PA, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Anna (Krolczyk) Roebuck. She spent most of her life in the Jamestown area, where she created a home that became a special place for all who entered–warm, welcoming, and filled with care.
Agnes was a graduate of Wilcox High School and Jamestown Business College. She began her career at Jamestown General Hospital and went on to dedicate more than 40 years to Jamestown Radiology.
At home, Agnes found her greatest joy. She loved her gardens, especially her rose bushes and, in earlier years, a sprawling flower and vegetable garden that brought both beauty and abundance. Family fondly remembers summer days eating peas straight from the pod, fresh off the vine. She took pride in keeping a well-ordered home, with a quiet sense of care that made everything feel just right.
Agnes showed her love most often through simple, meaningful acts–feeding and caring for others, often with something homemade in hand and a familiar reassurance, “I just washed my hands.” Her kitchen was a place of tradition and comfort, where special occasions were marked with her mud cakes, peanut butter ice cream pie, and Swedish jelly cookies–recipes that will continue to carry her memory forward.

Above all, Agnes cherished her family. She found joy in time spent with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-granddaughter. Her family will especially remember her rosy-cheeked smile after a small sip of wine, her ever-watchful presence, and the way she made each of them feel deeply loved and uniquely special–even in the smallest of moments.
She was a faithful member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church of Holy Apostles Parish.
She is survived by her children, Kevin J. Polaski of Falconer and Yvonne M. Frederick of Jamestown; her grandchildren, Joel (Alex) Frederick of Colorado and Aimee (Anthony) Ferrante of Massachusetts; her great-grandchildren, Matthew and Sloan Frederick and Eloise Ferrante; and her great-great-granddaughter, Kacyn Frederick.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph E. Polaski, whom she married May 23, 1953, and who died Sept. 13, 2009; an infant granddaughter, Rachael Frederick; a grandson, Christopher Frederick; four brothers: Louis, Eddy, Joseph and Fred Roebuck; two sisters: Mary Polaski and Victoria Roebuck; and her parents.
Agnes will be remembered as an amazing matriarch–someone to look up to and model one’s life after–for her steady strength, her generosity, and the countless quiet ways she made those around her feel loved.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Falconer Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery.
Family and friends are welcome Saturday one hour prior, 10 to 11 am to the service in the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choosing.
