Paula S. Olson

Paula S. Olson

Paula S. Olson, 60, passed away peacefully of NASH Liver Disease at UPMC Hamot in Erie PA, on March 4, 2026. She attended Jamestown High School, Jamestown Community College and Buffalo State University. Paula’s thirst for knowledge helped her to earn various degrees in multiple areas.

Paula is survived by her sisters, Sandy Kaups (Karl) of Shaker Heights, OH and Vicki Peterson (Scott) of Jamestown, NY. She is also survived by her nieces, Aleksa (Nick) of Columbus, OH, Jessa (Jared) of Davenport, FL and nephews, Sean (Sarah) of Bozeman, MT, Kyle (Melissa) of Jamestown, NY, and Erik (Lynn) of Jamestown, NY. She leaves behind her adored cat Peanut Butter, who has found a new home with Vicki. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard “Dick” & Betty Olson, sister Lori Ann, brother Rick, and her Aunt Shirley & Aunt Lil.

Paula was a devoted sister, aunt and friend. As the oldest sibling, she took her role very seriously and shielded her family from many things including the extent of her illness. She loved spending time with her friends, family, and cats. She truly enjoyed reading, playing games, swimming and scuba diving. Her favorite pastimes included teaching children and adults to swim, cross stitching, crocheting and researching her family tree.

She traveled and lived in several places including Ohio and North Carolina. However, her heart and family were in Jamestown. She will be sadly missed by many friends and family. Vicki & Sandy would give anything to hear her voice one more time asking, “Do you want to trade stickers?” She will continue to live on through those whose lives she has touched, and eventually the tears will be happy memories.

Friends will be received on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 9 to 11 a.m. in the Lind Funeral Home, followed by a time for the sharing of memories and readings. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Westfield Stray Cat Rescue.
