Nancy Webb Rasmussen passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 24th surrounded by the love of those she cherished. Nancy was born on March 12,1946 in Sarasota, Florida to the late Johnie B. and Ruth Wilson Webb.
Nancy had a wonderful & adventurous childhood living in various places such as the Sarasota & Bradenton areas, graduating from Manatee High School in Bradenton. She also lived in the Bradford and Randolph areas and spent several seasons living at the Chautauqua Institution. Nancy met the love of her life, the late Raymond P. Rasmussen, Jr., at the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club. They were married for 39 years before Raymond’s passing in 2008. They shared a beautiful, long-lasting marriage, raising three children in Jamestown.
Nancy held various positions at the former Lutheran Home and Quality Markets. She also worked as a seamstress and cleaned countless homes over the years. She was a member of The Lakewood American Legion Auxiliary #1286, The Celoron Moose Club Lodge #2587, and was a proud member and longtime President of the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club Auxiliary.
In addition to her husband, Ray, Nancy was preceded in death by her brother, Johnie B. Webb, Jr. of Bradenton, Florida. She is lovingly remembered by her sister, Lois J. Webb of Jamestown; son, David (Sharon Purdy) of Celoron; daughters, Rae (Ronald) Seeley, Jr., of Lakewood and Adele (Rick Stewart) Rasmussen of Jamestown; six grandchildren, Madison Hallett-Rasmussen of Surprise, AZ, Angel (Gary) Edwards of Boliver, Sarah (fiance Kylee Mourer) Rasmussen of Frewsburg, Megan Seeley of Ithaca, and Stephen R. Rasmussen of Jamestown; two great grandchildren, Raymond & Ava; and countless other family members and cherished friends.
Anyone who had the privilege of knowing Nancy would soon find out she was a special person. She was a fierce guardian and servant to her dedicated circle of family & friends; a dependable and engaged presence in the lives of her loved ones. She was a joy to be around, always willing to offer a helping hand, words of encouragement or just to share a laugh. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter and kindness that she shared with all, especially her family.
No formal funeral arrangements will be made. All Family and friends are cordially invited to an open house/ celebration of life to be held at The Lakewood Rod & Gun Club on Saturday, May 9th from noon to 3pm. Family and all who adored Nancy are welcome to join us to laugh, cry and share precious memories.
